I Spent $2,819 on PE Devices (Part 4) Length Training Wrap-up

pe devices Jan 09, 2025

Now you have a device for high force training (Compression Hanger) and if needed a device for low force training (Vacuum Chamber). Let's dive into how to apply force to the devices.

Before we dive in, if you haven't read Part 1, 2 or 3 yet I'd recommend you do so here:

With that out of the way let's get started.

We have a few options for applying force:

You can use free weights. Traditionally referred to as Hanging

  • This is probably the second oldest method of PE second only to manual stretches. Therefore, the most proven method, and my preference.
  • Extremely cost effective. Just need your compression hanger and some weights.
  • Best option when you are just getting started out.

You can use an "All Day Stretcher" which is typically some stretchy cord that attaches to either a waist or leg band.

  • Generally, force is limited to around 5 pounds.
  • Offers decent concealment when paired with a vacuum chamber.
  • My go-to choice when more time under tension is needed.

You can use an Extender.

Honestly most extenders are not sufficient for what we're trying to do. The only option you should consider is a "High Tension Adjustable Extender". So that is all I will cover.

  • Allow you to move around a bit more freely during high force training.
    • But are too large to be worn concealed under clothing outside the house.
  • Easily adjust angle penis is being stretched from straight down to straight up and anywhere in between.
  • Force adjustment is as simple as the turn of a knob.
  • Can help minimize or even reverse "Base Tenting" and "Turkey Neck". Issues that result from skin on your pubic area stretching.
  • Can focus more of the force on the shaft of your penis, reducing fatigue and elongation of the ligaments around your penis.
  • Force adjustment is typically limited to +/- 1 lb, which can be a bit much for beginners.
  • Typically do not stay in place well below about 5 lbs. Which can be a bit much for beginners.

Let's talk Hanging.

This is my recommendation for someone starting out. It is the simplest and most cost effective solution.

My preference is to use "Fractional Weight Plates". Compact size, increments of 0.25 pounds, can be used in the gym too (hint hint). For a beginner you'll want two of each of the following:

  • 0.25 lb
  • 0.50 lb
  • 0.75 lb
  • 1.00 lb
  • 2.50 lb

This will allow you to go as high as 10 pounds. Which if you progress slowly, intelligently and in small increments will be plenty for your first year or so of hanging. More experienced PE practitioners will benefit from the addition of one or two 5 pound plates.

You can find these fractional weight plates on Amazon or Ebay. A set like I have described will run you $50 to $100 depending on the quality. Don't worry about getting something extra expensive, the less expensive options will do just fine.

Once you have weights you still need to attach them to your hanger.

My preferred solution. A 2 foot long section of thin chain and an inexpensive carabiner from the hardware store. Costs $10-15 dollars and can be sourced locally. The chain of this length allows you to have two loops holding weights. This makes adding and removing smaller weights throughout the session easier.

The weights and chain are great for at home, but what if I am traveling?

Then it is time to channel your inner MacGyver and improvise.

My favorite method of improvising while traveling is water bottles, some paracord and a carabiner.

The inexpensive generic 500mL / 16 Floz plastic water bottles weigh roughly 1.1 to 1.2 pounds. Only want a half pound? Use a half full water bottle.

To attach to your device tie a loop around the neck of the water bottle and a loop in the free end of the paracord. Clip the free loop with your carabiner and attach to your hanger. Simple as that.

All Day Stretchers (ADS)

As a reminder: ADS is not a necessity. It is a tool to be added when progressing with your high force work is no longer feasible and you need more time under tension to keep making progress.

You could just hang 1 to 3 pounds of weight from your vacuum cup, but this is not very concealable and makes moving around a hassle. If you are looking to get that elongation in while doing something other than sitting / standing at your desk at home then a leg band or waist band ADS is the way to go.

 What makes a good ADS?

  • Comfortable & Adjustable Leg or Waist Band.
  • Wide range of adjustability.
  • Cord is elastic (stretchy) material to absorb impact of movement.

There are lot's of options. I have tried many. I have found one solution that works incredibly well for most people and is very inexpensive. That is the TotalMan Leg Band ADS. At only $20 I see no reason to bother trying to DIY one or play with the more expensive options. This just works.

EXTENDERS

Apex Extender

Looking for a simple but robust option? You might like the Apex. There are technically two versions. The DIY ($110 as of this writing) and the 2.0 ($185 as of this writing). I have the 1.?? Which is the DIY but came pre-assembled. I have not used the 2.0 so I cannot speak to that, and will focus on the DIY.

Pro's:

  • Extremely Robust. I honestly think I could run this thing over with a truck and it would be fine.
  • Simple. The limited feature set is kind of nice, less things to fumble with or break.

Con's:

  • Angle adjustment is finicky. I had to fiddle with the screws to be able to adjust angle. Then the angle adjustment wouldn't hold. So, i fiddled with the screws more. Then it was stuck and I couldn't adjust angle. The cycle just kept repeating itself until I gave up.
  • Threads on the frame are exposed to springs and crossbar. This causes the crossbar and springs to bind on the threads. The "fix" was plastic straws. Didn't completely resolve the issue and created a new issue. Now the straws get bound up in the adjustment nuts. Now to adjust tension your fumbling around frustrated with everything binding and getting stuck on everything else. Another endless cycle of frustration with the device.
  • No feature to measure force. The solution is an optional add on that clips onto the cross bar. Unfortunately it get's in the way of your compression hanger strap. Or if paired with a larger vac chamber interferes with the vac chamber at higher forces. Even more frustration...
  • Metal base pad is seriously not comfortable. After gluing a couple layers of old mouse pad on there comfort was improved. But this base pad design is not a good fit for my own anatomy.

Conclusion:

It feels clunky, rough around the edges and lacks the features of the competition at similar price point. If you’re a doomsday prepper this will probably be your choice for extending in the apocalypse. Otherwise, I’d recommend you look at the other two extenders in this list.

HOG Stretcher

Now we’re getting to the good stuff. These are 3d printed (and I believe the print files are available to the public). Have all the features you could want and are a steal of a price for what you get.

Pro's:

  • All the latest and greatest features:
    • Bundle knob that works great.
    • Captured spring design that is smooth and easy to adjust.
    • Smooth angle adjustment that holds well.
  • Base comes with a super comfortable pad and design is more ergonomic than the APEX in my opinion.
  • Comes in damn near any color you want which is cool, I guess?
  • Cheapest Extender on the list ($94 as of this writing).

Con's:

  • 3d printed = feels cheap and flimsy. I have had no issues with actual function. But, compared to something made of machined metal and molded plastics this 3d printed material is just not on the same level of quality, fit & finish.
  • Lead time. When I ordered it was 3-4 weeks. May have improved since then.

Conclusion:

Best budget option. If you need an extender and can't spend over $100 you’re a fool if you buy anything else.

Best Extender V4

Is naming your product “BEST [Product]” a little cheesy and gimmicky? Absolutely. But Best gets a pass because they really are selling the best extender on the market. This is the perfect example of executing on a consumer product. Features, Function, Fit & Finish. Best has it all, better than anyone else.

Pro's:

  • All the nice things I said about the HOG? Best does it better.
  • Most ergonomic and comfortable base pad of all three.
  • Force adjustment is unbelievably smooth compared to the other two.
  • Angle adjustment is super smooth and locks in place very securely.

Con's:

  • Bundle knob could stand to be a bit larger.
  • Force increments are 1 kg / 2.2 lb. Would be nice if they were 1 pound increments.

Conclusion:

This is my top pick. If you have the money it would be silly to buy any other extender.

Where do you go from here? What do you buy?

If you're just getting started:

Don't even worry about vacuum chambers, ADS's and Extenders. You need a Compression Hanger and some weights.

Once you reach a point where gains slow down with compression hanging and you don't have any more time available to hang:

Then it's time to get a Vacuum Chamber and an ADS. This will allow you to spend more time under tension to keep the gains coming.

So when do I buy an Extender?

If you need to ask that question then you don't need one.

Don't get me wrong, Extenders can be beneficial. What Extenders will not do is magically give you gains that can't be achieved through simpler and less expensive methods.

Revisit their benefits at the beginning of this article. Once you need those benefits then consider buying an Extender. Until then, save your money.

Wow, that was a long one. If you made it this far then I have a bonus for you. The most beneficial addition to length training I have found in my decade of experience.

And that is HEAT.

Nothing seems to improve the effectivity of length sessions quite like heat.

The best way I have found is heat pads. There are two that I have used that have worked really well for me so I want to share those with you.

Amazon IR Heat Pad.

I used this heat pad for 2-3 months with great effect. Get's plenty warm enough and is relatively inexpensive ($40-ish from what I recall).

However, it is not the best option. There is no built in way to wrap it around your shaft. The material isn't the softest. It's not super pliable. It has an auto shutoff timer. And it seems to shut off at random.

The better option I found is:

TotalMan IR Heat Pad.

Purpose built for PE. Get's even warmer than the other model. Has velcro to help secure it around your shaft. Is much more pliable. Super soft material. Everything you want and need in a heat pad, for only a tiny bit more money ($59 as of this writing).

Stay tuned for Part 5! We will dive into girth training devices.

Until then,

Dickspeed Brothers.
