I Spent $2,819 on PE Devices (Part 2) Length Training
Jan 02, 2025If you haven't read Part 1 yet, I recommend you do so. Click here for Part 1.
Looking to gain length? No PE device is better suited to length training than a compression attachment.
Just how capable are compression attachments? I have seen with my own two eyes Ben, the owner of MaleHanger, use his device to hang over 20 pounds off his penis for over an hour.
Now most people don't need to be hanging 20 pounds off their penis for an hour to gain length. If you're just starting out a few pounds for 20 minutes can be effective. The point here is that compression attachments are incredibly versatile, capable and powerful. A good compression attachment will provide you gains for years.
This is why your first PE device purchase should be a compression attachment.
In this article I am going to cover the most popular compression attachments. I have purchased and used most the devices on this list. I have found one item on this list to be a complete waste of money. And there are two devices that stand out from the crowd as the obvious best.
Which device is right for you? Keep reading to find out.
First up, the PHanger
This is one of my worst PE purchases to date. Don’t make the mistake of buying this. It is a very cheap and poorly made imitation of much better devices on the list that actually cost less! It is so bad that after fighting with it for a couple days I ordered the Bib Starter and threw this in the trash the day my Bib Starter arrived.
Pro's:
- Can be ordered on Amazon. So with prime you can get it over night or within a couple days.
- Clamshell design is safe to use if properly adjusted.
Con's:
- Most expensive device on the list ($159 as of this writing).
- Weight adjustment strap slips with only a few pounds.
- Adjustment nuts seem to not hold adjustment and slip / loosen.
- Adjustment wing nuts are small and poor quality, making them uncomfortable to manipulate.
- Feels like a cheap knock off of my two favorite devices.
Conclusion:
Don't waste your money on this. There are far better options for less money. Let's stop wasting time on this and get to those.
Fenrir Growth / Enlargement Unlimited Wrecking Ball
The Wrecking Ball is the only air pressure device on the list. This novel approach to compression attachments was designed by a legend in the PE community. While I don't love it in it's current state, I think with some more design iterations it could be an incredible option.
Pro's:
- At lower forces (below 5-6 pounds) the device is extremely comfortable and can be worn for long durations without removal.
- NOTE: Most compression devices should be removed roughly every 20 minutes to prevent nerve damage and allow blood circulation to the glans. This device is no different. However, I was able to wear it comfortably without any issue for up to an hour when using lower forces, and thus lower pressure from the device.
Con's:
- One of the more expensive devices on this list ($119 as of this writing).
- Force is limited. I started to encounter serious grip and comfort issues around 7 to 8 pounds force. At these forces is when I began to feel mostly skin pull, as opposed to pulling on the inner structure of the penis.
- Comes unassembled and assembly is a pain in the ass.
- More time consuming to take the device on and off than a clamshell style device.
- Device is bulky. Would not work well with ADS. Can be paired to most extenders depending on your length and the extenders capacity but it's not ideal.
- Device is long. More shaft in contact with the device theoretically means less shaft being stretched.
Conclusion:
I think this approach to compression attachments has a lot of potential. But in it's current state a more conventional clamshell style device outperforms it in nearly every way for high force training. And for low force training a Vacuum Chamber outperforms it in just about every way. Let's keep going to find a better option.
TotalMan Compression Hanger
The only device on the list I have yet to try. I have included it because it appears to be a viable option from a popular brand I know and trust. That said, my opinion on it is solely based on looking at pictures of it and comparing it to devices I do own.
Pro's
- Two piece style design, so it should be safe to use if adjusted properly.
- Thinner than most other devices, theoretically that means a greater amount of shaft elongated.
- Price is competitive with others on the list ($64 as of this writing). And TotalMan regularly runs promo's and discounts.
- Delivery from TotalMan within the US is normally quick, a week or less.
Con's:
- Thin design could limit grip, and thus force capability.
- Internal surface appears more curved than most other devices which could limit grip.
- Thin cordage used for attaching weight looks like it could easily contact glans. This is pretty uncomfortable under tension.
- No ability to adjust toe in / out which can really help with grip and comfort.
- 2 piece design can be a bit trickier to get on and adjusted than clamshell style devices.
Conclusion:
Seems like a decent option. But for a similar price there is a much better option. As you are about to find out.
Bib Hanger / Starter / Hardcore
Bib is the original manufacturer of compression style attachment devices. He has been making these devices for 20+ years and it shows. These are brilliantly designed, high-quality, well-made devices that have great adjustability, ease of use, effectiveness and comfort. Bib offers three models:
- Bib Hanger ($160 as of this writing). This is the original design, in my opinion it is too large and will be overkill for 98% of guys. If you are less than 6.5" erect girth don't even bother considering this model.
- Bib Starter ($120 as of this writing). This will be the go-to model for just about everyone. The original Bib Hanger but scaled down to a size that is a proper fit for most men.
- Bib Hardcore ($75 as of this writing). Essentially the Bib Starter but without the padding.
Since the Bib Starter is the most unique offering as well as the best choice for most guys that is what we will dive into.
Pro's:
- Padding. The only Hanger on the list with this feature. In my experience the padding has allowed me to use less wrap, and run the hanger a bit looser. That results in a more comfortable experience and being able to wear it for longer without breaks for blood flow.
- Wide range of adjustability. If you are longer than about 3.5" stretched flaccid length you can adjust this hanger to fit.
- Adjustable loading strap. A nice feature to ensure that strap doesn't rub on the glans, which is very uncomfortable.
- Easy and secure adjustments. All the hardware is good quality and sized to be comfortable to adjust by hand.
Con's:
- Price. At $120 it is one of the more expensive options.
- Purchasing & Shipping. Bib's website and ordering process could be described as clunky at best. When I ordered it was roughly a week before it actually shipped and another week of shipping time.
Conclusion:
If you aren't in a rush and are willing to pay a bit more you will not be disappointed with the Bib Starter. But if you want a device that is just as good, if not better, for less. Then check out the final device on the list....
MaleHanger
We have reached my top recommendation. Why is MaleHanger number one?
- Design is just as good, if not better than the Bib.
- It is slightly better quality.
- The ordering experience is easier, shipping experience faster.
- You get all that for half the price of the Bib Starter.
It's one shortcoming compared to the Bib Starter? The lack of padding. But padding is not necessary and this is easily overcome with proper wrapping technique.
Conclusion:
You cannot go wrong making the MaleHanger your one and only compression attachment.
If you want to gain length, the best device is a compression attachment.
Of all the devices available there are only two I would buy again. The MaleHanger or Bib Starter.
The padding on the Bib Starter is a nice luxury feature, but is not necessary and doubles the cost. I won't tell you not to buy the Bib Starter (unlike others on this list). But I will tell you if I was going back in time and only buy one device, it would be the MaleHanger.
I'd use that $60 saved on a decent dinner date with the wife so I'd have a shot at giving her a taste of the gains the MaleHanger gave me...
In the next article we will dive into Vacuum Chambers. The best tool for low force length training. After that we will cover the different options to apply force to these attachment methods and accessories you might want or need for length training.
Until then,
