The Truth About Steroids, Growth Hormone and Penis Enlargement

Jun 16, 2025

If you’ve ever thought about hopping on testosterone, growth hormone, or some underground “DHT cream” to boost your PE results — you’re not alone.

The logic feels obvious:
→ Hormones grow your body.
→ So more hormones = faster PE gains.

Right?

Not so fast.
The truth is… for 99.99% of men reading this Growth Hormone(GH) and Anabolic Steroids(AAS) won’t help your dick grow.

And in most cases?
They’ll actually make growth harder.

The Myth: Hormones = Growth

We’ve all seen what AAS and GH can do for muscle growth...
So it’s natural to assume they’ll help grow your penis too.

But the penis isn’t a muscle.
It doesn’t respond to hormones like your biceps do.
In fact, after puberty, your penis becomes highly resistant to hormone-induced growth.

Why?

Because your penis is an organ.
And like most organs the growth window closes as puberty ends.
Much like the growth plates in your bones closing.

That’s why steroid users don’t suddenly:

  • Explode with internal organ growth
  • Grow taller or longer limbs as adults

Why Hormones Stop Working After Puberty

By your early 20’s some genetic programing has taken place that:

  • Reduces Androgen receptors in the penis by ~3x
  • Shifts fibroblasts from growth-promoting to maintenance-mode
  • Causes the collagen structure of the tunica albuginea to become cross-linked and stiff

Result?
Your body doesn’t care how much Testosterone or Growth Hormone is in your bloodstream.
It sees the penis as “done growing” — and switches into maintenance mode.

This is exactly why clinical studies on testosterone and GH therapy in adult men consistently report no change in penis size, even when hormone levels are pushed to the extreme.

My Experience With HRT & PE

In 2019 a training accident destroyed my testicles. A surgeon saved some of the tissue, but my testosterone production never recovered.

After several pharmaceutical interventions failed, I began medically prescribed hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and have remained on it since.

In August 2023, I recommitted to building my dream physique.
My endocrinologist had me reduce my testosterone to half the dose I’d been taking for the last 4 years. I wasn’t thrilled — but I followed the plan.

In September, I restarted PE after nearly six years off.
With just a basic hanging routine — 3 to 5 pounds for 30–60 minutes — I gained 1.1” in length and 0.5” in girth by January 2024.

My hormone levels were lower than ever…
But my gains were excellent.

When “More” Backfired: Adding AAS & GH

By September 2024, I decided to crank things up.

  • Increased my testosterone
  • Added another anabolic
  • Started taking supraphysiologic GH

In December 2024 I began PE again after a 3 month break.

But now it took more than twice the effort compared to when my hormones were “normal”.

I was hanging 7 to 12 pounds for up to 2 hours a day and struggling to reach elongation levels I was previously reaching with just 5 pounds in 60 minutes.

Despite doing twice the force and duration I only gained 0.6” in length.

My hormones were maxed. My effort was higher.
But I was growing slower.

So what the hell is going on?

Why Supraphysiological Hormones Can Hurt Growth

Here’s the key problem:

  • GH increases collagen cross-linking
  • Testosterone and AAS amplify that effect

This creates a denser, stiffer, less pliable tunica.
Worse, it promotes fibrosis — scar-like remodeling that resists stretch.

You’re literally weaving new Kevlar into old spandex — then wondering why it won’t stretch.

But What About TRT or GH Deficiency?

Let’s be clear:
If you’ve been medically diagnosed by a board-certified endocrinologist with true hormone deficiency (not just a “Low T” clinic giving out scripts for being tired)… then restoring those hormones can sometimes help.

In those rare cases, you might see:

  • A slight increase in baseline penis size
  • A small improvement in PE responsiveness

But that applies to a tiny fraction of the population — guys with serious, often debilitating health issues.

If you’re reading this newsletter?
Odds are — that’s not you.

And if you’re otherwise healthy?

Supraphysiologic hormones won’t help.
In fact, they’ll likely slow your progress.

Bottom Line

  • PE is mechanical, not chemical.
  • Supraphysiologic hormones stiffen tissue and slow down gains.
  • Tissue remodeling is governed by the SFRA model, not your bloodwork.

More is not better.
Better is better.

If you’ve been tempted to experiment with GH or AAS for faster PE results, this was your wake-up call.

You don’t need gear to grow.

You need a system designed around mechanical load.
A system that manages Stimulus, Fatigue and Recovery, so you can get the adaptations you desire.

That’s exactly what the PE-201 System is proven to do.
And that’s why it works — with or without hormones.
